CARD TRICKS
2021.

‘Card Tricks’ is a short film about magic, performance and comic violence, shot on a Samsung S20 and a Samsung A5. An ode to the silent comedy of Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd.
Cinematography by Connor Stevenson-Wright.
Music by Jack Bryer.
Starring Ekaterina Dudakova, Joseph Hollas, Lauren Hooper and Sam Miles.
Assistant Director Imogen Ince.

THE DOUBLE
2021.

‘The Double’ is an animated short created almost entirely alone during lockdown. I used rotoscoping to ground the physical comedy in a tangible sense of reality.
Backgrounds by Jack Bryer.

CHANGELING
2022

‘Changeling’ is a short horror which revisits some of the themes of The Double from a different angle. It is an experiment in working with minimal resources, completely created by myself and my then girlfriend and frequent title-inventor Beth under tight constraints. Shot using a Samsung S20.

THE MICROFILM AFFAIR
2022.

An Academy-standard feature-length film (40+ minutes) shot entirely during the 2022 Oscars ceremony, as part of filmmaker Joel Haver’s “Instead of watching the Oscars, make a movie!” challenge. Shot on a Canon DSLR.

Station Fourteen is having a bad night. He works the midnight shift at a low-rent secret agency for hire, and things are rapidly getting out of hand. With double agents, counter-ops and disgruntled clients to handle, can Fourteen keep it all under control long enough to make it to clocking-out time?

THE OBSCURE EYE
2022

An unsuccessful filmmaker becomes obsessed with mysterious footage found on an old camera. A voyeuristic psychological micro-thriller.

SWITCHER
2022

When your back is turned, things aren’t what they seem. An improvised mini-short.

THE GIRL FROM THE GROUND
2022

A young woman who lives in a hole in the ground does battle with a creature in the woods. Another Beth co-production which was scripted by her and directed by me.

LA SIRENA
2023

Beth wrote an outline for this and we shot it while on holiday in Ibiza with family. Getting up before the sunrise to shoot in the sea on a nearly empty beach is one of my favourite filmmaking memories.
