Wow! Here we are at the end of an ENTIRE YEAR of writing six days a week, and to tell you the truth… I don’t know if I’m really any better for it. But I did it anyway, because there was no point in not doing it. I’m taking a break from writing for a bit, maybe as much as a month, but then I’ll be rewriting a few of these stories into a state where I can publish in good conscience. Those versions will obviously be kept to myself until the book is ready, but the originals will have a home here for posterity no matter what.
If anyone is really reading, by the way, now more than ever is the time to drop a comment below or an email my way. It’s been a journey, baby.

The sky was filled with brilliant fire that illuminated the churning battlefield in blues and greens. Ailen stumbled in the mud, shielding her eyes from the light, and fell flat on her face as the tell-tale vzz of a plasma rifle flew right through the space her head had been. She struggled against the sucking mud, and the storm cannon fired again, flashing cerulean over a blackened, grinning skull in front of her.
